Description

“Year Thirty-Three” is the Thirty-Fourth painting in the “34” Series by Laura Noel, completed in 2018-2019. The series was an experiment in “abstract as autobiography,” where each painting of the series was meant to loosely represent a year of the artist’s life.

A few words about “Year Thirty-Three” from the artist:

At this time I was thriving as a self-employed contractor, and finding more time to paint than ever. I was producing a lot of work, and in anticipation of my 33rd birthday I decided to paint the largest painting I have ever attempted-  It was a 5’x7’ acrylic on canvas abstract. Painting this piece gave me the confidence to later initiate and complete the “34” series.
